The Town of Preston met on Monday December 11, 2023, at the town hall. The meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM by Darrel. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Certification of Open Meeting Law Requirements was met. Roll call was held with Philip, Darrel, Mary and Cathy present. Motion by Darrel, second by Philip to approve the agenda as printed. Motion carried. Motion by Philip, second by Darrel to approve the minutes of the November 13, 2023, regular board meeting. Motion carried. The financial report for November was approved with a motion by Darrel, second by Philip. Motion carried. The disbursements for December were approved with a motion by Philip, second by Darrel. Motion carried. Public comment: None. Patrolman’s report: None Motion by Philip, second by Darrel to approve the following election officials for the 2024-2025 election years as presented by the Clerk. Dawn Pederson, Julie Nehring, Mary Drangsveit, Kristen Anderson, Diane Carlson and Blake Nelson. Motion carried. An update was given by Darrel on SES operations. Pumping operations have been shut down, their hauling in of sand should decline by spring, they are requesting a road agreement for 2024 with no changes and we will turn in an invoice for shouldering on Carpenter Bridge Road. Cathy and Mary brought up the lack of heat in the office area. Motion by Philip, second by Darrel to have it checked out. Motion carried. Roadwork: sanding as needed. Motion by Darrel, second by Philip to purchase cutting edges for the Western Star and also have the transmission codes checked out. Motion carried. Announcements: None.
